New FEMA Mitigation Program – Important News for Landowners

A new Hazard Mitigation Program by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) could help landowners in Brady Canyon, Carrizo, Eagle Creek, Lakeshore/Flying J, Nogal, the south side of Highway 220, Sun Valley, Upper Cedar Creek, and West Gavilan.

This program will pay 100% for hazard mitigation. The project goal is 4,000 acres, and up to $4.5 million could be available. This program is based on participation of property owners. In order to obtain these funds, property owners must submit an application and enough applications must be received to indicate solid participation by property owners in these areas.
